My business superpower? The Huddle.

My business superpower? The Huddle.

There’s something magical that happens when women in business get together, not just for networking or polite small talk, but for real, roll-your-sleeves-up, “let’s get this done” kind of support.

And for the past few years, I’ve had the absolute joy (and let’s be honest, sometimes the emotional rescue mission) of being part of exactly that: my Huddle group.

We’re a small but mighty gang of independent business women who meet once a month. Rain or shine. Hair washed or shoved under a hat. Business booming or, well, character building. We show up. And wow, does it make a difference.

Our Huddle is part accountability, part therapy, part girl gang and I honestly don’t know how I ever managed without it. We bounce ideas, share wins, talk through wobbles, and(crucially) we cheer each other on like our lives depend on it. Spoiler: sometimes it feels like they do.

We’re not afraid to call each other out (lovingly), to say, “Nope, that’s an excuse,” or “You’re playing small.” We’ve seen each other through launches, dry spells, new clients, scary investments and big wins. There’s something so powerful about sitting in a room full of women who get it...who understand the juggling, the self-doubt, the ambition, the late-night Googling and the occasional desire to throw your laptop out the window.

But more than the business stuff, we’ve built friendships. We send pep talks, memes, emergency voice notes. We celebrate each other’s success as if it’s our own, because in a way, it is. When one of us shines, we all feel the glow.

Being a business owner can be lonely. The to-do list never ends, the imposter syndrome creeps in and the pressure? Let’s not even go there. But with my Huddle, I never feel alone in it. I’ve got backup. I’ve got brainpower. I’ve got belly laughs and brilliant advice.

If you’re a woman in business and get youself into a Huddle; I promise it will change everything.

Because yes, I’m building a business, but I’m also building a life. And with these women by my side? It’s going to be one hell of a ride.
